What is Neck Pain?

The root cause of neck pain and discomfort is often not the neck itself but other spinal problems.
Neck pain may be caused due to muscular tightness in both the neck and upper back, or pinching of the nerves arising from the cervical vertebrae. Joint disruption in the neck and the upper back also can create discomfort in the neck region.
The head is supported by the lower neck and upper back, and it is these areas that commonly cause neck pain. The top three joints in the neck allow for most movement of the neck and head. The lower joints in the neck and those of the upper back create a supportive structure for the head to sit on. If this support system is affected adversely, then the muscles in the area will tighten, leading to neck pain. Neck pain affects about 5% of the global population as of 2010.

How Komeo Physical Therapy Helps

1. When visiting Komeo Physical Therapy for the first time, you will receive a consultation, evaluation, and assessment. We will use the Inbody to assess body composition, and we will also use the Exbody to assess postural imbalances exposing the root of your discomfort.

2. Here at Komeo Physical Therapy we will perform a thorough evaluation of your neck to determine your range of motion strength, posture and alignment. Sometimes, the location of the pain may not be the source of the pain. Often a limitation in movement above or below the painful area is causing excessive pressure or poor function of the painful area. With hands on manual therapy, postural corrective exercises and modalities such as electrical stimulation, infrared lamp, cupping and air compression sleeves, we can relieve your pain, restore motion and get you back to activities quickly without neck pain.

3.Through consistent treatment regimen and follow ups, we will ensure your health is maintained in an optimal state.
